Legal DNA Paternity Test in the UK

Legal DNA Testing and Court Approved Paternity Tests

At easyDNA we offer a legal DNA test and court approved paternity testing  that can be used for various purposes.

A legal paternity test can be used to settle any number of family related issues and is priced from only £289.

Legal testing can be required when the persons participating in the test want to be assured that the correct samples were submitted for testing. Other purposes include issues over inheritance, legal disputes, immigration applications etc.

Once your DNA samples are processed, a copy of the test results will first be sent by email within 3-5 working days and a notarised hard copy of all the documentation will follow in  around 10 days.

Sample Collection Service now available!

A legal test must follow a strict chain of custody procedure. Samples are collected by an independent third party such as a doctor and identification and passport photos must be submitted at time of sampling. When ordering with easyDNA you can benefit from a home appointment with one of our approved samplers. This service is not included in the test price and prices may vary according to your location.

Legal testing, that will be permissible in court, can be provided for paternity tests and also for other relationship tests as well.

easyDNA can also provide you with immigration DNA testing through our partner laboratory which is approved by the United Kingdom Home Office and listed by the MOJ.

It is important that if you are directed by the court under section 20 of the Family Law Reform Act 1969, then you must select a DNA testing company that is listed on the MOJ for the test to be accepted.

Book an appointment with an approved DNA sampler

A legal DNA paternity test requires that a neutral third party, usually a medical professional like a doctor or a nurse, collect your DNA samples. They are known as samplers and are responsible for verifying the identity of the parties being tested and their subsequent samples. You are responsible for making an appointment with a registered sampler and paying any related fees. Should you be unable to find a sampler we are able to offer a Home Sample Collection service through our approved partners. Contact us today to find out more.

The Sampler will endorse the passport-sized photos you have provided as follows:

   1) “I [Samplers Name] certify that this is a true likeness of ... [person’s name]”
   2) Samplers Signature
   3) Date

(For a visual guide on how your samples will be collected visit our sample collection guide page.)
