Maternity DNA Testing

The term maternity refers to the biological state of being mother.  The term maternal also refers to the instinctual drive whereby even without children, a mother feels the need to bear children.  It is possible to carry out a DNA paternity test to confirm whether a woman is a child’s biological mother.  The DNA Maternity Test works in the same way as the DNA Paternity Test except that whilst the latter test verifies the alleged father, the former is used to determine the alleged mother. Maternity also carries legal connotations as in involves acknowledgement of parental relations between a mother and child/children.
