Cost and specifications of ancestral origins testing
An ancestry test makes a highly original present for a friend or family member. easyDNA offers this generalized yet highly insightful ancestry test for only GBP 199. This cost is for the testing of 1 person. Testing additional people will be at an added cost.
We will provide you with an easy-to-use at home DNA sample collection kit. Once you have collected your samples with the oral swabs provided, send them to us for testing. Your results will be sent to you by email in 2- 3 weeks starting from the time we get your samples at our lab. As soon as we get your samples we will contact you and give you your due date. Genetic ancestral testing: accurately telling you your geogenetic origins
Our advanced geogenetic ancestry will enable you to discover and learn more about your ancestry by taking a total of 14 studied anthropological groups and comparing your DNA to these to find the closest matches. The field in question is known as genetic anthropology and is an important aspect of ancestral tests. We will look out for specific genetic mutations that you share with the 14 studied anthropological groups.
Your results are a detailed analysis of what we have discovered about your ancestors through analysis of your genes. We will also provide you with a special high resolution map which plots your ancestor’s origins. This map is ultimate and easiest way of really visualizing and absorbing yourself in your ancestral roots.
What will my genetic ancestry map show me?
Your ancestry map highlights 3 main aspects of your geo-genetic ancestry. Essentially we seek to establish three different aspects of ancestry:
- How closely does your DNA match to that of studied populations? To do this we use specific colour codes for each population. Different colours will indicate how strong or weak your genetic relationship is to a given group. Yellow, for example, will indicate those groups to which your DNA matches least.
- How closely does your DNA match to studied anthropological regions? This part of the ancestry analysis will tell you where your native regional genetic affiliations lie. In other words, we will tell you where your ancestors came from. This should indeed help you find some interesting links and often may be quite surprising as your deep ancestral roots may be very different to those of your recent ancestry.
- Strength Indicators: Different colours on your map indicate a different degree of genetic affiliation with your ancestral groups. Different shapes are used to indicate the different studied anthropological groups. We merge these two different sets of data together on bar graphs to clearly display the regional matches and your native region matches.
